According to an investigation conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWP), the public water supplies of 42 of the United States are contaminated with 141 unregulated chemicals. The Environmental Protection Agency has never developed standards pertaining to these contaminants, so it is up to Americans to find ways to avoid them by using Naturawater industrial filters, or an Everpure restaurant water filter.
If you own an eatery, there are many industrial filtration systems to choose from, such as an Everpure restaurant water filter. Brita filters, and Berkey water filtration systems are common home tap water filters, which take care of many of the heavy metal ions in tap water (Berkey also has a filter for flouride).
When talking to a local coffee shop owner recently, she told me about how crucial it is to have purified water when brewing the finest, most delicious blends of coffee. She uses Everpure food service water filters, but also cited Naturawater and Selecto as filters that are just as widely used as her Everpure restaurant water filter.
The 10 states with the most harmful contaminants in their water are California, Wisconsin, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, New York, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Illinois (in that order). The EWG said the largest sources of contaminants are agriculture, industry and pollution from urban runoff and sprawl. These states are also the most frequent customers of industrial water processing products such as Everpure food service filtration, and Naturawater food service filters.
A diner where I live, in Rochester, NY does not use an Everpure business water filter, or any sort of equivalent. When I spoke with the owner, he said that the customers do not notice the difference, so it must not be a huge deal. The effects of contaminated water, however, are more nuanced than just taste. They can deteriorate health, and cause cancer over years of consumption.
If you own a restaurant, it is highly recommended that you use a filter. Whether you choose an Everpure restaurant water filter, Naturawater, Selecto, or any other brand, you can take pride in knowing that you are not serving your customers contaminated water. The EWG claims that more funding is needed for water testing, and better filtration must be used for public water. Until that day, however, an Everpure restaurant water filter, Naturawater, Britta, or Berkey filter will be the key to clean water.
Do you use an Everpure restaurant filter? Selecto? Leave a comment and let me know if you prefer the Everpure restaurant water filter, or another brand.
I use an Everpure. The water is so clean and thin. You can definitely taste a difference.
I also use Everpure, and not only can you taste the difference, you can see the difference. Hold a glass of unfiltered water up to a light, and then filtered. The unfiltered will have little particles throughout.
